Ten days after a hair transplant, it is important to continue to follow post-operative care instructions provided by your surgeon. Here are some general guidelines:
1. Gently wash your hair: At this stage, you can begin washing your hair using a gentle shampoo provided by your surgeon. Be very careful when washing the donor and recipient areas and avoid rubbing or scratching the scalp.
2. Avoid scratching or picking: Avoid scratching or picking the scalp, even if it feels itchy. Scratching can cause damage to the grafts and picking can dislodge them.
3. Avoid strenuous activities: Avoid strenuous activities that cause excessive sweating or increase blood flow to the scalp. Activities like running, heavy weightlifting or cycling should be avoided for a few more days.
4. Avoid direct sun exposure: Avoid direct sun exposure or wear a hat when going outside to protect the scalp from sunburn.
5. Continue taking medications: If your surgeon prescribed any medications, make sure to continue taking them as directed.
6. Contact your surgeon if you notice anything unusual: If you notice any unusual signs, such as severe pain, redness, swelling or discharge from the scalp, contact your surgeon immediately.
Remember that hair transplant is a delicate procedure that requires proper care and patience. It may take several months for the transplanted hair to fully grow, so be patient and follow the post-operative care instructions provided by your surgeon.
