The amount of time you need to stay home after rhinoplasty depends on the extent of the surgery and how quickly you heal. In general, patients should expect to take at least a week off work or school to allow for initial recovery. For the first few days after surgery, it is recommended to rest and limit activity, including avoiding bending over or lifting heavy objects.
It is also important to avoid any activity that may increase your blood pressure, such as exercise or straining, for at least two weeks after surgery to prevent bleeding and promote healing. Most patients are able to resume normal activities within two to three weeks after the procedure, but it may take several months for the nose to fully heal and for the final results to become apparent. Your surgeon will provide specific instructions on how long you should stay home and when you can return to your normal activities based on your individual situation.
